In the upper Adour valley, the “Ferrère dynasty” was established, sculptors from generation to generation, making their adopted village, Asté, a centre of artistic creation in the 18th century.

Around them, carpenters, sculptors, gilders and other artists had established their workshops and designed a large part of the furniture of the churches in the region.

Their works were very successful and kept the workshops going for about 150 years!

The Maison des Ferrère et du Baroque Pyrénéen is dedicated to the discovery of this rich heritage but is also the starting point for guided tours of the local churches that house these treasures.

Throughout the year, conferences, outings and trips are also organised.
